For employers in the contract cleaning industry, applying for an RBCCCI Compliance Certificate is a highly recommended practice. This official certificate can be used when applying for contracts or tenders to show clients that the company is compliant with the RBCCCI Main Collective Agreement.

The certification process will involve an inspection of the company’s records by an accredited agent of the RBCCCI. If the company is compliant, the RBCCCI will issue a Certificate of Compliance to the company. It is important to note that a Certificate of Compliance is only valid for six months. After this period, the company will have to apply for another certificate at no cost to the company.

What the Compliance Inspection Covers

To successfully pass the compliance audit, an accredited agent will cover the following during their inspection:

  • Payroll Records: An inspection of the payroll to check compliance with wage rates, overtime, bonuses, hours of work and provident fund contributions (etc).
  • Employee Registers: The uniform register and the Annual Leave register.
  • Provident Fund: Three months proof of payment of Provident fund and timeous submission of Provident Fund Schedules.
  • RBCCCI Levies: Three months proof of payment of RBCCCI levies, and the timeous submission of Levy schedules to the RBCCCI.
  • Union Obligations: Three months union deduction schedules as well as proof of payment to the unions and timeous submission of the schedules to the RBCCCI.
  • Association Payments: Three months employer association payments as well as timeous submission of such payments to the RBCCCI.
